A 2-hour private sketching workshop.  Email me to schedule your lesson and with any questions you may have at kristenpaints@gmail.com.

You’ll learn to capture what you see around you in a little sketch journal
with step by step guidance as we go.

I use a minimal sketch kit of watercolors and archival ink.  We sketch outdoors and indoors, in fact anywhere at all.

If you’re an Urban Sketcher or want to learn how, this might be the perfect lesson for you!

Bring Any sketching supplies you would like to work with.  Below is a list of my favorite sketching supplies:).

Supply list:

Pens; Permanent ink pen, it's important that you use permanent, waterproof ink.  I use a TWSBI Diamond 580 with an "F" nib that I fill with De Atramentis Document Ink or Archival Ink in black.   I also like Uni-ball Vision Elite Rollerball Pens with a Fine point.  These are disposable pens.  I also enjoy using a Uni-ball Signo Um-153 Gel Impact pen for adding highlights.  The Posca 7mm bullet tip white acrylic pen is also a good option.

Brushes; Silverbrush Black Velvet Voyage brushes and Belle Aqua Travel brushes.  These come in different sizes and shapes.

Paper; A Sketchbook, the size is up to you, 3" x 5" up to 9" x 12" is recommended.  My favorite are the Stillman and Birn Beta series.   I also love to paint on Arches or Fabriano Artistico watercolor blocks in small sizes such as 10" x 7" or 7.9" x 7.9".

Water cup; Collapsible silicone water cups are best but any unbreakable cup is fine I often use a Faber-Castell Click-and-Go silicone water cup.

Pencil;  You may want to draw with pencil first, if you do, I recommend a

Staedtler Leadholder with a 2B lead and a Staedtler white plastic eraser.  The blue Staedtler leadholder comes with a point sharpener on the back of the pencil.

Additional supplies; A I use brush towels.  These are in place of paper towels, I bring my own small bottle of water for painting.
