Meerkat Manor

Meerkat Manor features five adorable meerkats enjoying a lazy afternoon in a beautiful home interior reading nook.

Through the window is a view of an inviting, sunny, African landscape with a giraffe and two zebras strolling by. 

On the shelves you'll find a stature of a Hoopoe bird, a Guinea fowl, and African Grey parrot, a camel teapot and a parrot tureen.  I also added protea flowers to the red window vase and a teapot with a Hoopoe bird on it and my favorite leopard print tea cup!  These little details tie in with the theme of this artwork!  

We have a family of meerkats at our nearby zoo. I've spent time observing them as they scurry around making sure their little tunnel homes are perfectly clean. Watching them gave me the idea that they'd feel right at home in a beautiful, neat interior like this one! 

This has been painted on French-made, Arches heavyweight, all cotton, watercolor paper with Rembrandt professional watercolor paints.
