Last Light, Mangawhai, Original Oil Painting

An original 30" x 40" or 76.2cm x 101.6cm, seascape oil painting of a place that is near and dear to my heart, Mangawhai Heads Beach in Northland, New Zealand!  It captures the last light of the evening filtering through the dune grass. Gentle, soft, violet shadows are cast onto the sand. The hills in the distance are a dramatic and beautiful shape and the ocean is a luminous shade of turquoise. This place holds a special place in my heart, I've feel fortunate to have spent a number of weeks at this beach.
