Our group is called the Travel Painting At Sea, Group 712.
This cruise has a total of 10 sea days and I will teach daily, travel watercolor painting lessons on board from approximately 2pm-4:30pm! We will paint together from my collection of Hawaiian travel photos. We will go to high Tea together, twice and sketch, our tea, desserts, and sandwiches. I will also be available to help you with other watercolor sketches you may want to do.
1.) Meet at the Tamarind Bar where we can get to know each other and paint watercolors of our tropical drinks! I will also have photos along for all of us if you want to paint a Hawaiian beach scene or plumeria flowers!
2.) Paint a scene of Kailua Kona Bay with a sea cove and coconut palms.
3.) Draw and paint a painting of Aloha Tower and then go to “High Tea", together which is served in the dinning room. We can also paint our tea, desserts and sandwiches.
4.) Paint the famous, colorful Hawaiian Triggerfish, Humuhumu nukunuku apua'a
5.) Paint Akaka Falls Waterfall from Hilo, Hawaii.
On the 5 sea days returning, we will paint the following Hawaiian-themed paintings;
1.) Paint a Big Island black sand beach with coconut palms.
2.) Draw and paint a Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle with coral.
3.) Draw and paint a Hawaiian plumeria lei or plumeria flowers, then sketch and paint our tea and desserts at "High Tea", in the dinning room.
4.) Draw and paint a humpback whale (we will most likely see many of these from the ship, especially between Maui and Kailua Kona.
5.) Paint Secret Beach on Maui with the island of Lanai in the distance.
I will have a whole collection of reference photos of Hawaii to hand out to each of you for each of the Hawaiian travel painting scenes. I will have more photos than the # of days we have to paint so you will have extras and the option to paint something different from the group if you wish.
I will also be sketching and painting in watercolordaily onboard around the ship and can help you with your additional sketches or paintings as well if you'd like. I have included additional sketching and art supplies in the supply list.
The workshop/ class fee is separate from the cruise fare and covers the daily lessons.
I will reserve a table for our group to have dinner together each evening at 7:30 in the main dinning room.
