I won Best Watercolour in an international art contest by Artfinder, London!

I am excited to announce that my painting, “Brunch In Barcelona”, has won best watercolor in the International Art Contest by Artfinder, London.

This painting is an original, highly detailed, 22” x 30” watercolor and ink painting on all cotton, French-made, Arches paper.  It features a gorgeous, complex arrangement of intricately designed cloth prints and china pieces with a variety of motifs. Scattered about the table are fresh lemons. Well over 100 hours went into creating this painting.  It is inspired by the work of Anna Chandler, a fabulous table designer from Perth, Australia.

I don’t normally enter art contests but I was so excited about this painting that I decided to enter it into Artfinder’s international competition, and to my surprise and delight, it has won!!

The next step in this competition is a public vote for best artist!  My painting won best watercolor which is one of ten categories which include sculpture, drawing, printmaking, photography, digital art and other painting mediums!   Voting will close on Monday 22nd January 2024, with the winner being announced Wednesday, 4th January 2024. The artist with the most votes in this post’s comments will be the very lucky winner of the Chateaux Orquevaux artist residency in France.
